“Drag Queens”

And you think that last post’s hot rod pics were cool? maybe because you haven’t seen them in action yet. It’s almost unbelievable to see in person these 80 years old mental vehicles launching into furious acceleration one against other. The pistonheads who own and drive them put themselves out to keep them alive and man these things know the deal! Maybe they’re not the fastest wheels on earth or haven’t the best sound but the smile on your face gets bigger and bigger every time they go pedal to the metal. No christmas tree here but like in good old days a proper pin up that drop the flag and here we go: only fun and atmosphere! Unfortunately (or luckily) there was quite a crowd so it has been hard to find my way to grab many shots: but these 11 captures are really funny to watch.

Pensavate che le foto degli hot rod nel precedente post fossero fighe? Forse perchè non li avete ancora visti in azione. E’ quasi incredibile vedere di persona questi veicoli assurdi vecchi di ottant’anni lanciarsi in feroci accelerazioni uno contro l’altro. Gli invasati appassionati che li posseggono e li guidano si impegnano anima e corpo per manternerli vivi e davvero questi mezzi sanno il fatto loro. Sicuramente non saranno le quattro ruote più veloci della terra, magari non avranno il suono migliore ma ti stampano un sorriso sulla faccia che diventa via via sempr epiù grande ogni volta che partono a tutto gas. Nessun albero di natale (il celebre semaforo utilizzato per le gare di accelerazione) ma come ai tempi d’oro una pin up con tutte le curve al posto giusto che sventola la bandiera e via: solo atmosfera e divertimento! Purtroppo (o per fortuna) c’era una bella folla per cui è stato abbastanza difficile trovar eil modo e lo spazio per scatatre un buon numero di foto: ma queste 11 catture sono davvero divertenti da guardare.
